Diflucan (fluconazole) 150mg capsules are not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age. Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine to rule out serious drug interactions.
Diflucan (fluconazole) capsules are an extended-release medicine used for treating vaginal candidiasis, uremic refractory to therapy and associated with its symptoms. Diflucan (fluconazole) capsules are indicated for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis caused by fungus.
Ingredients
Active ingredient fluconazole. Inactive ingredients such as microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate (anhydrous), croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), lactose monohydrate, triacetin, and FD& C Blue No. 1. Blue No. 2 - FD& C Blue No. 1 - pregelatinized starch, sodium stearyl fumarate, titanium dioxide (E171), yellow ferric oxide (E172), lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, pregelatinized starch, polyethylene glycol, and magnesium stearate.
This medication should not be used if you have liver or kidney problems, or if you are allergic to fluconazole or any of its ingredients. It is not known if diflucan is safe and effective in children under 12 years of age. It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age. It is not safe in pregnant or breast-feeding. Use with caution in fungal infection of the skin and nails. Inhibition of fungal cell membrane may increase the risk of infection. Before using this medication, inform your doctor if you have a history of liver problems, or if you are taking other drugs. Fluconazole may rarely cause a severe intestinal condition called Clostridium difficile (C. diff) infection. You should tell your doctor before taking this medicine if you have: a history of an allergic reaction to fluconazole, or any of its ingredients. If you have known or known C. diff infection, inform your doctor before taking this medicine. C. diff can cause an illness called diarrhea that may spread to the intestine. If you have a serious infection, or any of your health problems, notify your doctor immediately. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or if you have asthma. Keep all medical and laboratory appointments. Ask your pharmacist or your doctor for more information. Use with caution during the last 3 months of pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Check the patient information leaflet that comes with your medicine. If you are taking fluconazole, you may experience diarrhea. If you experience diarrhea, contact your doctor. Use with caution in children under 12 years of age, especially if they have a history of liver and kidney problems. Central nervous system disorders:Liver disease is an immune response triggered by a specific viral infection. It can be the result of a virus infection, such as the Epstein-Barr virus, or the herpes simplex virus. A causal connection between hepatitis C and liver disease is not well established.
If you have a hepatitis C virus infection and are taking lopinavir and ritonavir (Norvir), your liver function may be at risk. If you have hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, your liver function may be at risk. Your liver function may be affected by alcohol consumption.
Liver function tests are not recommended for people with liver disease.
